Doucet Visits Vancouver, BC to Discuss Border Real Estate Market

December 08, 2016 in In the Media

Chris Doucet recently traveled to Vancouver, B.C. to meet with their counterparts in the SIR Canada offices as well as other influential agents and individuals working in the real estate field.

The primary focus of the trip was to present The Highlands, a private gated community of opulent mansions on expansive lots, connected by winding roads through private woodlands, where Chris represents a number of listings.

“The Seattle real estate market prices are on the rise, comparatively they are only half to a third of the prices within Vancouver market” says Chris Doucet.

Vancouver has also recently seen a rise in taxes and laws, in 2016 the BC government imposed a 15-percent foreign buyer tax on non-resident property purchases within the City of Vancouver and by 2017 the city will impose tax and penalties for owners of vacant houses.

These policies are also a driving factor for the recent increase of foreign investors searching for property within the Seattle market; “These Seattle homes are an incredible investment in terms of value and the tremendous growth rate anticipated over the next few years, alongside the new Cash-Shiller report that Seattle is #1 in the US market for appreciation, makes the Seattle real estate market ideal for savvy investors” says Doucet.
